There is a new witch in Tillyhenge and she is stirring up trouble. There are some townspeople that can’t wait to have her work magic for them and are willing to pay her for her services but others...not so much. The REAL witches in the village know she is more con artist than witch but not everybody feels the same. When she ends up dead of course Caitlyn will do some sleuthing to find out who the killer was.
In this book Lord Jame Fitzroy is home from some time away and is definitely interested in taking up with Caitlyn where they left off...so things are moving forward between the two and there is romance in the air. Nibs the kitten and Vicktor the vampire make appearances as to Widow Mags, Aunt Bertha and cousins Evie and Pomona. There is the murder, there are avid witch haters including a witch hunter, there are mean girls and talk of revenge, Ferdinand the bull makes an appearance and mention of Tara – the mother of Caitlyn that has not been seen since she gave birth to her daughter.
I am hoping that in the next book we will hear more about:
* The romance between James and Caitlyn
* Why Nibs is not growing
* Where Caitlyn’s mother might be
* What service the Widow Mags rendered to James’s father
* How Evie and Caitlyn are doing with their sometimes on sometimes off magical abilities
* Where the Hag stone might be and if it can really read the runes on the necklace Caitlyn wears
* Whether or not the black diamond Pomona is wearing is having an impact on her personality
* Who Thank Blackmort really is
* And a few other things
This is probably the best story yet. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next book when it comes out.
