(LibraryThing Legacy Member Giveaway 2015)This is book two in a series and I didn't read the first one so there is a lot I didn't understand. There is some sort of supernatural enemy the characters are fighting against, there are Dark Fae in a forest, a seer, and a fighter? It felt like a very cool D&D campaign to me which isn't bad but because I didn't read the first book, I had no connection to the characters, their motivations, or the world. That's truly unfortunate because this might have a chance to be really cool. I'm still open to reading the first one and rereading this one eventually (they're both available). **All thoughts and opinions are my own.** This review was written for LibraryThing Member Giveaways. I received this book from LibraryThing giveaway. When I first started reading the book, I felt it had a slow start but after reading a while it turned out to be pretty interesting. It had some parts of the story that were familiar stories but overall a good read. I noticed once I finished that I was reading book #2 of a sequel, so I need to go back before I can move forward to find out the ending. I received this book from LibraryThing giveaway. So far, really enjoying this series. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.Abagail, Leona, and Rorick are still trying to make it to the Harbingers of Light before the darklings overcome them and the part inside her takes her from them. She has figured out something interesting out about her power but is it to late to use it for her benefit? The trail seems to be taking them to long, a new elf seems to be helping them but why does Abigail not trust her but the others trust her to much? And when will Celeste come back to maybe shed some light on it? Very good book ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

The Darkling Tide is book two of The Harbingers of Light series. This book starts right where book one left off. Gorjugan's warrior has been destroyed. As Abagail and Rorick were fighting a losing battle against the shadow warrior, Leona lit her doll on fire and threw it at the warrior killing it. She has not seen the being attached to the doll she has fondly called Skuld since. As you can recall, the light elf, Celeste has left them temporarily and promised to return before they reach the harbingers of light. As they meander their way through the Singers Trail, Abagail becomes overwhelming tempted, then all three of them are tempted by music. That is until the dark elf Daniken, Celeste's sister appears. Her scepter is of the moon, the opposite of her sister. Her scepter is also unlocked, which allows her to harm the darklings. She begins to guide them, but Abagail is leery of her. The trust she immediately feels with Celeste, she doesn't have for Daniken. Daniken proceeds to convince the others that it's the darkness that has begun to consume Abagail. What is Daniken's goal? Can they really trust her? Will the darklings be able to penetrate the wards? Why are the light elves against unlocking the scepters?
I was once again completely enchanted by this new world that was filled with nonstop action and adventure. I felt really bad for Leona as she watched the darkness slowly overtake her sister. For a fourteen year old, all things considered, she was pretty brave. She really stepped up to protect her sister when she had to. The book ended with the quest continuing in book three and hopefully we'll find out what will become of Abagail. ( )
