I was intrigued but this is most definitely DARK! If rape, pedophilia, erotic asphyxiation, sex slavery, and rough sex are triggers this might not be for you. I will say the pedophile stuff is just talked about without any descriptions which would have been my hard limit. Just so you know, Vlad is not a gentle, loving man. There is no love making in this book. The book is slow moving in the beginning but quite a bit happens in the last half. I'm going to give the next book a chance. ( )

Now this was a great read and managed to keep me from feeling like it was too short.

The characters in this particular book were very strong. I didn't have a single complaint through the whole book. Not a single one.....seriously....they managed to start off one way and work their way up, growing but not truly changing who they were. They stayed true to their initial character traits.

Read it, and wait with baited breath for the next installment. I know I will. ( )

This book. The only reason I didnt dnf was because it was like watching a train-wreck happening, I just couldnt look away. Gosh, how I hated Vlad. Does he even understand the meaning of consent? And I still couldnt figure out what was so special about Irina after all?
The only characters I actually liked were Diana and Vas ( )

When Ker and K get together, it's pure genius. Their books are just so great when they right on their own, but when they get together, you know that you need to read the book. Or maybe that's just me. But really, anyone who loves dark romance should definitely check this one out.

Vlad mostly runs his family even though his father is still alive. Vlad makes the decision, presents it to his father, and then his father claims it and makes it happen. Vlad knows that it's time that he marries. He needs to help consolidate his family's power even further and make sure that he has an heir. That's where Diana Volkov comes in.

Diana's father had no sons, so he raised her and her sister Irina as his heirs. They tell each other that the Volkov women are strong as long as they are together. Because of that, when Vlad asks her to marry him, she says that Irina must come with her to the Vasiliev estate. Vlad's fine with that because he's always been fascinated by Irina.

Irina has always had a huge crush on Vlad. When he and her sister get engaged, she knows that nothing will ever be able to happen between her and Vlad and living in his house is going to be hell.

The storyline is great. Not only is there a lot of heat and tension in it, but you also get the various plots and machinations that are happening. There are people who I hope to see more of just because I want horrible things to happen to them. There are people that I want to see more of because their story fascinated me and I want to see more of it play out. I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the next book. These ladies have set it up for us so well, and they just left me panting for more. ( )
