Immediately from the beginning of the story our narrator gives a terrifically dark description of the house that Roderick and Madeline Usher live in, perfectly outlining the events to come inside the house and later on in the story. Ultimately, the horror of the story is being buried alive, and the psychological horror that ultimately results when Roderick realizes what he has done. This is my favorite by Poe, and even though the Raven is probably his most well-known, I would say this is his best. ( ) ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
