( ) This book is more pictures than words. He attended school at the age of seven and as a teenager he worked with the red cross. He spent most of his childhood on the family farm. In the 1920's Walt went through his first business failure--but also experienced his first big success with Mickey Mouse premiering in the first cartoon with synchronized sound. This book follows along with Walt's animations. In many ways Walt Disney was a typical boy at the beginning of the twentieth century, Walt worked many jobs until finding his true passion with animation. "Walt started in the animation business, people were making cartoons in which character leaped from the drawing board into the real world"(Schroeder 15). Walt Disney's first screen appearance was in 1928, in Steamboat Willie. After Steamboat Willie, Walt Disney went onto bigger animations and started making movies. Then he went onto bigger and better things, like Disneyland and Walt Disney World. I have always loved anything having to do with Walt Disney. I found the pictures and the background information about Walt Disney very interesting! "Walt Disney: His life in Pictures" is in chronological order. Each section of the book is focused on a decade of his life. The book has more pictures than words, because Walt Disney thought life was spoken through pictures. I noticed that throughout the book, most of his animations and movies were about his life experiences. Walt Disney, a man who revolutionized animation and brought many cherished characters to the big screen. Growing up, Walt was like any other Chicago boy in the 1900s, working many jobs and helping with his family farm. It was not until he was almost seven years old that Walt first attended school, and later spent his teenage years working with The Red Cross in France before returning back home. Not long after, he told his father he wanted to be an artist and left for Kansas City, where he got a job in animation. The rest they say is history! Through pictures, this book traces Walt's life and tells the story of how the man behind the mouse came to be. Many quotes are available by Walt Disney himself on his experience. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
