Knight of Flame (Knights Elementalis) by Scott Eder is an adventure-cum-fantasy story filled with suspense and intrigue that will enthrall readers. The story is set in Tampa, Florida. Develor Quinteele is the sixth Knight of Flame. He gets angry at the slightest provocation and he has no control over his temper which is his downfall. He waits for the coming of the Gray Lord who is his enemy. Dev is framed for a brutal attack done by the minions of the Gray Lord. It is his anger that leads him to it. Will Dev finally learn to control his rage? Will he be able to save Tampa from destruction?

I liked the characterization of Dev. It is based on fire, one of the four elements. His anger slowly consumes him, burning him away. The author has woven all the twists, turns, sub-plots and plot skilfully together and has kept up the tempo of the story. The protagonist and all the other characters have been etched very well and they leave a lasting impression. The story, apart from the fantasy and adventure, also deals with relationships.

I liked the concept of the elements incorporated into the characters of the knights. It is something that adds to the uniqueness of the story. The writer's language is simple and stark, making the narrations excellent, crisp, and clear.

The Knight of Flame is a strong and sympathetic character who is bound by the awesome power of smoldering and raging fire.
