Young Allies collects Young Allies nos. 1-6 and material from Age of Heroes no. 2 and the Firestar one-shot written by Sean McKeever with art by David Baldeón and Emma Rios. The story focuses on Firestar, Nomad, Araña, Toro, and Gravity, who must work together to combat the Bastards of Evil, a group that claims to be the unwanted children of various supervillains. When Warhead, who claims to be the son of the Nuclear Man, blows himself up at Ground Zero, the young heroes determine to bring these nihilist villains down. They each have their own baggage and must learn to trust each other, but they work well when they do. This book primarily serves to introduce the new Young Allies, named after the World War II-era team, and offers some good character growth for Firestar and Araña. ( )
