I read The Guardians and really didn't like it at all. I could see where she wanted to go with the story, and was really hoping it was good but I just don't think she accomplished what she set out to do.

Juniper Tree Burning a novel about a girl whose parents were Hippies & lived in the New Mexico desert was one of the best books I ever read. Maybe "touchstones" will come up with the auther because i can't remember.

Two New Mexico classics are Bless Me Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya and The Milagro Beanfield War by John Nichols.

Ceremony by, Leslie Marmon Silko a magical realism delight- for adults only though. I would never recommend this book to an immature audience- they wouldn't understand it.
