At first glance we are heading for Classic FM 2.0. It gives this particular old fart yet another thing to complain about in this steadily deteriorating country.
Did anyone notice a very small, but to my mind very telling moment? In the Good Friday broadcast of the Bach St. John Passion the interval occurred just before 3 p.m. To fill the gap they played a Bach Partita and then, seconds before 3 o'clock, the traditional time of Christ's death on the cross, a particularly solemn moment one would have thought, we were offered a irritating little jingle reminding us that we were listening to Radio 3 'Home of Classical music' on our 'smart speakers'.
Oh dear!
