foreign-language titles available on the "Details" tab.

I would like to have a translated title (English) show up when I'm viewing a list of my books which include a number of international books (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc).
On the web interface I'm not seeing "alternate title" field until I go to the "Common Knowledge" tab. There I can put in a translated title, but (1) it does not show in the book lists and
(2) it warns:
Avoid titles already listed as the Canonical or Original titles as well as foreign-language titles available on the "Details" tab.

Where might I find the foreign-language title field?

Is there a better solution for what I'm trying to achieve?

This book for example is arguably subtitled "El ñandutí del Paraguay" so a subtitle field would work too?

The "details" tab is the work details page, available in the left hand menu on the work page. At the bottom will be the titles of the translations (when available). I don't think this is a field you can add to your catalogue.

However, you can add the "alternate title" field to your catalogue view. Click on "settings", then drag the "alternate title" field to the desired display style. You'll find it under "common knowledge" (on the right).

We do have a "Other Classifications" field for example. It can be made visible in your catalog and if you are not using it for anything else, you can put it there. Or you can put it in the "Publication" field (which contains publisher and year and what's not). Or the comments field.

Or you can use the title field itself and use a double title there.

You could even put the English title as the first tag.

Alternate title should be in the language of the site you are using, and should be a title the book has been published under, not a made up translation.

Now i want to make up some translated titles.

If you don't wish to use double title in your title field, you could use the summary field to include both or the other one. It is searchable and you can put it next to title field in one of your catalogue view styles.

If they want the translated title to show as the title in their catalog, shouldn't they just make the translated title the title on their book record?

Anyone can 'clean up' CK. Only you can change the title in you catalogue.

Fields in CK (such as Alternate Title) are common/shared data and anyone can update and change.
