How to include a hyperlink in a cover picture

I have started using covers in my listing of books I am reading. Another member asked if I could include a hyperlink to the book as part of the cover. Can someone tell me how to do that?

It's not actually easy to do. You can't resize the image doing this with HTML (I couldn't believe this and had to look it up to verify it) so while you could in principle easily say "make the target of this image a link" you can't ALSO say "and display the image at xxx pixels". You'd need to download, resize, and re-upload all the images. Which is way more trouble than it's worth to satisfy some random "hey it would be nice if" on YOUR THREAD. Far easier to just put a standard Touchstone link to the book under your cover.

With the help of kjuliff I was sent to this link

https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/HelpThing:Html_tips#Inserting_Images

and it worked just fine.
At least it did work for me, including resizing the image.

Using Images as Links

It will show the image, with a link to the appropriate URL. Unfortunately, it's not possible to reproduce in wiki.

Sorry, I didn't realize that's what you were asking for - I thought you wanted to have the image link go somewhere other than to the image itself, if that makes sense.

>5 lorax: Sure it does as I often don't phrase my questions very well. The link goes to the book page for which cover is being displayed.
