Cross posted from the new group about dictionaries:

Howdy!

I'm looking for someone who might have access to a copy of The Winston Universal Reference Library. It was printed back in the nineteen twenties and thirties.

I just found my mother's old (1938) copy in my attic and would like to get a copy of pages 545-546 (which are missing in my copy).

If I could insert a copy of this sheet, it would be a long overdue act of atonement, since I was the one who ripped the page out when I was ten (back in the '50s) because I loved the picture of the labyrinth so much.

I went to Worldcat and not many libraries have this and there were editions in 1927, 1930, 31, 33, 37, 38. There is a way to bounce to Worldcat thru LT and you can see if any of these are close to you. (When you get to Worldcat, you have to retype in your query, because there is no ISBN #).

I also looked at Google Books, and it has a copy (1938 no less) but it is listed with "No preview". Eventually this will open up, but with post-1923 books some people are real hesitant with copyright.
