The principle ways I (Amalia, hello!) acquire books,

[A] Used book stores, my favorite is The Bookstop in Petoskey. Second place goes to The Bookie Joint, but only because they're Xtian bent-y.
[B] Borders books, home of pretty new cover designs at a shiny employee discount price.
[C] Silly friends who think they're ever going to see their books again.
[D] Amazon.com, for embarrassing things like self-help books and porn, excuse me, erotica.

My organizational approach is based on aesthetics/convenience, despite being particularly good at the alphabet.
