There are many, many things that bugs me in these kind of stories. But I always compare them to harlequin stories and somehow... I find myself a lot more forgiving for things that would annoy me in other stories. And I can even enjoy myself

“Battle” and “bunnies” is not a combination that I have ever even thought of before. With bunnies being little fluffy things, the idea of them turning into black-ops-type battle ninjas is just a little off – apparently off enough for Stormy Glenn and Bellann Summer to take it, make it their own, and run with it. The result is a very entertaining first story in a new paranormal series, set in a world that promises fun, surprises, and adventures of the oddest kind.

Bailey and his brothers have been through hell. Captured when they were babies, sold, and used for cruel experiments by so-called scientists, they have finally taken life into their own hands. They are now a fighting unit out to free other shifters from labs all over the country. It just goes to show how even the meekest creatures can become dangerous when they are tortured to the point of needing to fight back – or die. Bailey is determined to carry his weight in their operations, never mind that he is blind. He was born that way and has learned to more than compensate with his other senses; he is an essential part of the “Battle Bunny” attack force.

Harvey – Vey – is a rare shifter type, and has been captured and tortured by evil scientists. Bailey frees him, much to Vey's amazement since he never thought a blind man could be as useful as Bailey turns out to be. But there is more to their story – Vey soon figures out that Bailey is his mate, and goes all possessive on him. Bailey won’t stand for it, and the ensuing battle of wills – all while they try to get to safety - was as intense as it was entertaining.

When Bailey and Vey bond they are in for a major surprise that had me grinning. I’m sure the consequences will show up in the next book, as will a few of the secondary characters. There are some wolves, a mysterious duck, a traitor, and more evil scientists than should be legal. All signs of much more fun to come, or so I hope.

If you like paranormal stories with a touch of humor, if two men who need to find a way to live together despite their different natures are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is as entertaining and funny as it is suspenseful and hot, then you will probably like this novella.

In this second book of the ‘Battle Bunnies’ series, it’s Baxter who meets his mate, an alpha wolf who works for the council and goes by the name of Dominic. But they face more than one issue: the evil scientists who experimented on Dominic caused a change that means he no longer has a scent – and without that, Baxter can’t be sure Dominic is his mate. And that results in the overprotective oldest brother, head of the legendary Battle Bunnies, to go into full protective mode and attempting to keep the wolf away from Baxter. Added to the external issues they continue to have, Baxter and Dominic have their hands full trying to mate and stay alive.

Baxter is just a little different from his brothers. My guess is they all are, considering that Bailey from book one is blind, but Baxter feels his differences more intensely than the others. He also doesn’t want the differences to go away. So it’s not just his piercings that set him apart. But when a half-crazed with lust alpha wolf comes after him, Baxter isn’t so sure he wants to stand out anymore. He can’t smell Dominic, but he does feel drawn to him – if only his stupid oldest brother would stop interfering! Given a few moments alone, Baxter is sure he’d be able to figure it out. But that is not meant to be.

Dominic knows that Baxter is his mate, he can smell him just fine. He hates how overprotective Baxter’s brothers are, and decides his only chance is to take extreme measures. The Solvency Rule may not be known to the bunnies, which doesn’t help, but luckily Bailey’s mate, Vey the gargoyle, is well aware how it works. He and Dominic’s brother make sure all goes as it is supposed to – until external events interfere and Dominic ends up fighting for his and his mate’s life.

I was pretty much ready to strangle Baxter’s meddling brothers and think Dominic was still pretty nice to them. These personal issues and the added external stress, new discoveries, and more mystery around the scientists and their experiments made for a very exciting adventure with some hints as to who is next. I can’t wait!

If you like a little humor with your paranormal stories, if two men who want to mate but are stopped by unwilling family and chaotic events are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is suspenseful, full of new mysteries, and some hot action between the sheets, then you will probably like this novella.

Now that the scene has been set in the first two books of the ‘Battle Bunnies’ series, this third book begins to add more mystery, a prophesy, and more than one revelation to the ever-thickening plot. With Beaumont, the middle of the five bunny shifter brothers, and Dario, the newly appeared vampire prince, at its center, this continuing story of trying to stop the evil scientists reaches new heights of suspense and their plans new lows of despicability. What a dark and sordid tale, but thanks to the ever-vigilant Battle Bunnies I am keeping my hopes up.

Beaumont definitely has middle child syndrome. Without a defined role among his brothers, and usually seemingly invisible since nobody pays him any attention, I find it fascinating that his ability is “not to be seen” by humans as long as he doesn’t move. I think this is an incredibly useful skill to have when going on covert missions, but not one that is appreciated by anyone. It is no wonder that Beaumont’s one wish in a mate is for that man to “see” him. He can’t believe his luck when the vampire who owns the house the Battle Bunnies are hiding in returns and looks at Beaumont as if he were the center of the prince’s world.

Prince Dario is over the moon to have found his mate. He is ancient and has waited forever, but now that he has finally discovered “his one and only”, he will protect him from any and all danger. Unfortunately the object of his affections has his own ideas, and the prince has to adjust his priorities. His inclusion in the team also adds a lot of knowledge about history, and he is the one who reveals an intriguing prophecy that hints at the Battle Bunnies’ purpose in life.

Beaumont and Dario are a great fit in more than one way, and their initial issues of getting used to each other were funny rather than aggravating. Actually, Beaumont was occasionally mad, but I was extremely amused. I could see how flexible Dario was, despite his appearance as an implacable and tough vampire prince, and enjoyed watching Beaumont figure that out for himself.

If you like the ‘Battle Bunnies’ series, if you want to see a middle child come into his own as soon as he finds the love of his life, and if you’re looking for a read that is as funny as it is suspenseful, then you will probably like this novella.

The mystery of what is going on with the somewhat brusque oldest bunny brother, Barclay, and the enigmatic duck has been brewing for quite a while. I was excited to find out that this book is about Barclay, that the duck has a name –Elliot – and is, as I suspected, Barclay’s mate. There are also some surprises: Barclay and Elliot find out they have a third mate named Tavarus, the scientists are even more evil than previously shown, and Barclay can’t be in charge of everything. This story is suspenseful, filled with a few twists and turns, and contains some very hot three-way action once the guys find the time to work on claiming each other.

Barclay has known for a while that he is dying due to one of the scientists doing a particularly devious experiment with him as the subject. This fact explains some of his earlier gruffness (which I had a real problem with) and why he has been so focused on his brothers finding their mates. Now Barclay thinks he has reached the end of his road, but Elliot doesn’t want him to give up. Neither does Tavarus, once they rescue him, but Barclay has a hard time accepting anyone else’s opinion. He is as stubborn as they come, and it takes quite a bit of doing before he even begins to see the error of his ways.

It was good to see Elliot take human form at last and to get to know him a little. He‘s very dedicated, desperate to save Barclay’s life, and more than a little stubborn himself. He and Tavarus make a great team that focuses on protecting Barclay. His feelings of superiority over geese were hilarious.

Tavarus is big, strong and very dominant. He will not let Barclay run the mating, but he is also flexible when need be and can let Elliot or Barclay take the lead – on occasion. He is as possessive as they come and will do anything to save Barclay’s life. The fact that Barclay leads the Battle Bunnies does not sit easy with Tavarus, but he is smart enough not to interfere too much in that part of his mate’s life.

As with all triads, it takes a while for these three men to find their balance; They make a good start here, but I have a feeling there is more to come. That, and the fact that there is a hint about who Basil’s mate may be, and it doesn’t look like a natural fit at all!

If you like the ‘Battle Bunnies’ series, if you want to see Barclay fight for his life and see him accept a second mate, and if you’re looking for a read that is action-packed, suspenseful, and full of revelations, then you will probably like this novella.

There was one mystery that has been bugging me for a while – that of the tiger and what the heck is going on with still-mateless Basil – and that one gets nicely solved in what looks to be the final book in this series. Well, final at least as far as the Battle Bunnies brothers are concerned. There were plenty of other secrets that needed to be dealt with, like who is behind the cruel, evil scientists and can these guys ever find peace? As the story develops, a few new riddles pop up and the result was another entertaining, suspenseful adventure with a triumphal ending.

Basil is in a tight spot. Different from his four brothers, he has known who his mate is for many years, yet thinks they can never be together. How is he supposed to accept and love the man who sold all of them to the pet store that led to them ending up in the labs where they were tortured for many years? I can’t even imagine what Basil must have felt like and how torn he was. In the end, the mate bond proves to be too strong for Basil to resist any longer – and it’s a good thing it does. It appears there is more than one misunderstanding that needs clearing up!

Although I could not have imagined it, Theo is in an even worse spot than Basil. He knows he never intended the bunnies any harm – on the contrary, he was trying to save them – and instead he ended up in his father’s clutches, having to watch Basil and his brothers be tortured for years. But as much as Theo blames himself, he is determined to still make Basil his mate. The nightmare has lasted long enough and Theo will do anything to try to make it up to Basil.

Basil and Theo end up right in the middle of the Battle Bunnies’ final battle. And while lots of questions are answered, and all of the loose ends are cleared up, there are also a few major surprises. Some of them are fundamental to the paranormal world the authors have built in this series, and could quite easily lead to more books – at the very least they gave me something to think about.

If you like the ‘Battle Bunnies’ series and want to see all of them settle down, if you want to find out how Basil and his tiger manage to finally get together, and if you’re looking for a read that is as action-packed, suspenseful, and full of revelations as ever, then you will probably like this novella.
