A fascinating account of the California urchin fishery from the 70's through the mid-90's. I've been urchin collecting (although for environmental restoration rather than commercial purposes) off of a Radon, and have been diving on many of the sites he described. His descriptions of the diving and the characters he was diving with put me underwater with him, and many of the techniques used in the 70's to collect urchins are the same we use today.
