This was a fun, fairly fast read. I didn’t find it as gripping as the first book in the series, but I’m not at all sorry I read it. It was fascinating to try to imagine our world as viewed through the lens of people who have never seen sunlight or trees. It was also interesting to see the merging of two cultures in this story—that’s something you don’t get to see in books very often.

I didn’t find this book as interesting as the first story, but it was a good read, all the same. The characters were well-drawn, and I felt immersed in the Sparks world from the first few chapters. If you enjoyed The City of Ember, I’d recommend you read this book, too. A fun continuation of the series!… (lisätietoja)
