This book tells the about what is like living in Jamaica and going through a typical school day for a young girl. Not only will the reader learn about the cultural, languages and food, they will also experience the school day and home life of the school age girl. This book would be a great resource for students learning about a different country and culture and would provide an excellent example if a student were to be comparing their everyday lives to the someone their age in another country. The book is formatted in a way that is engaging, with many bright pictures. It would also work well as mentor text for a teacher introducing non-fiction text features to students as there is an index and glossary as well as places to look for more information.
