I just loved this series and it ended beautifully! Aldara continued to be a strong, clever, resourceful and brave heroine. There were times that I thought she was a little crazy for leaving her son but I also see how it really needed to be her to go rescue Tyron. I really liked that for the most part everything that happened was pretty believable. There wasn't ever a point where I rolled my eyes and thought "oh come on!' Highly recommend if you enjoy romance with a little adventure. I think this is probaby the best of the series!

Excellent writing but snippet not stand alone.

I love this series. The setting, the characters, the conflicts. I do have to admit though that some VERY stupid mistakes have been made by the characters which can be a little annoying BUT thats normal. I'm not happy with the way this one ended so I am excited for the next book when hopefully things will turn around. I understand why it ended this way though which is why I still gave it 5 stars.

I loved this story. Dion and Astra are a tough couple with reservations. Their relationship starts rocky as they spend time fighting with and for each other. This story kept me locked in and I devoured this book in one day. Tanya does an awesome job of writing strong female characters and Astra doesn’t disappoint. This story was entertaining and addictive. If you love YA romance you won’t be disappointed.

Tayna Bird has easily become one of my favorite authors and this book doesn't fall short. The relationship between Nerva and Brei is so captivating. The plot is fast paced and keeps the reader locked in. There's even a battle with pirates. The plot pulled at me emotionally and the romance made me swoon. If you love historical romance set in Ancient Rome, definitely give this book a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Downloaded this from BookFunnel as a freebie during a promotion and gave it a try. It kept my interest from beginning to end though the end was rather abrupt leaving me wondering about the what will happen to Tyron and Aldara...for that matter...I wonder how the kingdom Tyron is middle prince in can survive with the brother who will probably end up king one day.

Aldara is sold by her mother for a few coins to keep the family going and in hopes that Aldara’s life will be better as a noble companion. She is trained and educated and yet Tyron keeps his distance. There is a horse race and archery and rape and wars and kidnapping and evil countries and famine and a whole lot more that happens in this book.

I have mixed feelings about the book but did enjoy escaping although I have to say I would NOT want to be a noble companion!
