I'm checked out on this series. The story is always cleverly written, but I'm just too fed up with the negative and argumentative nature of Sophia's family.

Sophia's family is unhappy with her new pet's loud snoring, so Sophia spends the book testing different ways to muffle, transform or stop the noise.

I rather like Sophia and her giraffe, Noodle, but the other members of her family are so harsh and negative they just ruin the book for me.

Sophia wants a giraffe for her birthday so she tries to persuade the members of her family to get it through a series of individualized pitches. The reader learns about tailoring proposals to different audiences, and Sophia learns about the power of being succinct.

Cute and funny with a quirky multiracial family.

A dragon loses his flame for a while and thinks his mom won't love him anymore. He gets it back when his mom shows him love.
