I didn't like the romance. I realize it is Harlequin, but I would rather of read something about Janice dealing with her husbands death and figuring out who she is without the romance. Janice went from a controlling father to a controlling husband. Now she is jumping into marriage again. She is only starting to figure out what she really wants. It bothered me that no one is pushing her to slow down, every is so happy about her new love. No one tells her she needs to spend some time on her own.

We get a very little bit about the mystery. Alyssa is having dream about when her mother disappeared. But Janice and her cousin Alyssa interact very little in this book. (

Easy read - you can read it in a few hours. Janice was happily married with two children and a fulfilling life. Tragedy strikes and suddenly everything she believed in changes. Can she do it? David, a boyfriend from college, enters her life to help her with her financial situation. As Janice works to move forward, she faces a lot of challenges and David seems very supportive but is he what she really wants. Good story but the purpose of this series is the murder of the person found at the lodge and there is very little about that in this book. Not sure why that story line comes and goes in this series but it is frustrating since if you have been reading the previous books, what you want to know she who committed the murder. (

When Janice's husband dies she realizes she's always depended on him to make all the decisions and pretty much take care of everything. She has no idea where they are financially or what's going on in his insurance business. She also had no idea he was seeing another woman. She reconnects with a college boyfriend who was also friends with her deceased husband and comes to find that she is ready to start a new life.
This was a very sweet little story about two people finding that it's never too late to start over and love again. The characters were genuine and had believable chemistry with each other. I was disappointed that no progress was made in the mystery of the Body at the Lake, and also that there were very few cameos from people featured in the previous books. This is much more of a stand-alone novel than any of the others in the series. (
