Again, I'm not really that much of a chick lit fan. The humor is just not really my thing. I prefer angst and misunderstandings. This almost had it all set up perfect, but was too much a humor book for me to really get into it. Still, chubby, poor, somewhat insecure heroine with troubled childhood... how could I not enjoy it? Would have preferred it be less light and airy but there were some good bits. ( )

I couldn't even finish the book because the main character was so unlikable. ( )

A wonderful story of life rebuilt. Leena and Cole have a great dynamic. The rest of the characters are extremely lovable and unforgettable. ( )

Leena Riley is coming home to lick her wounds. Not that she wouldn't really rather be somewhere else, anywhere else, but Rock Creek, but being a washed-up plus-size model in Chicago doesn't pay the bills when you have a shopping habit like she does. So she's back and she needs a job. And the only one available in tiny Rock Creek is receptionist at the vet's office. It's unfortunate that the vet is the same small boy that she once punched on the playground - except he's all grown up and a certified hunk. But Leena's absolutely, positively not interested in the sexy bachelor... not at all.

I needed something fluffy to read during a long day of waiting places, and grabbed this because it looked light and quick. And found myself snickering out loud and drawing looks from others sitting around me. Funny, quirky, and outrageously real the folks of Rock Creek are highly entertaining, and Leena and Cole make a good couple. Linz is going on my list of authors to watch for. ( )
