This book is about a group of friends who are headed to a grand celebration, but they soon discover that the bridge they need to get to the celebration is closed. They become discouraged and wonder how they will ever get to the celebration, so they start to imagine the different ways that they can get passed the bridge.

My favorite in the Vamos! series so far! Little Lobo and friends get in their new campion to cross the puente for un gran celebracion, but they are stuck in traffic for hours - so they decide to have the celebracion right there on the bridge, with food and music and fireworks. An author's note describes the author's many childhood crossings between Juarez on the Mexican side of the border and El Paso on the U.S. side. ( )
