I like this series' lively illustrations and message about being true to yourself and others.

The Molly Lou books are some of my favorites. The stories are sweet and full of heart, but the best part are the illustrations. David Catrow has a way of capturing not just the spirit of Molly Lou Mellon, but of all kids, and all fun-loving adults. This isn’t the best Molly Lou book, but it is still her heart and rambunctiousness, and her need to be unique. This is a book for my collection for years to come. ( )

Molly Lou Melon is a tiny person with a big voice. She uses that voice the stick up for others.
The author and illustrator combine humorous text with cartoon like illustrations to present a fun lesson in doing the right thing. This book is recommended as a storytime or class visit read aloud. Through reading and discussion, children will learn valuable skills for school readiness. ( )
