Normally I devour anything by this author because of her ability to push me out of my comfort zone. However, this book was missing something for me. The steam was steamy like always but there was something missing in regards to the storyline and characters. I didn't understand the motivation or logistics of this pairing. Not did I understand how these two would work it out (especially children). The ending left !e even more confused. I can't believe I'm saying this but I wanted more story and less steam. ( )

This is an intense book. I mean, it's very intense. I like intense, and this one left me flailing sometimes. It was a hard one for me to read sometimes, and I had to talk it over with my husband before I was able to make my way through all of my feelings about what was happening in the world.

I don't like Jared. Full stop. Flat out don't like him. I can often find a way to like the main male characters, even when they are total a-holes, but there's just something about Jared that I have a hard time connecting to. I'm looking forward to seeing what Felicity Brandon does with him.

I am really torn on Sophie. Sometimes I like her, sometimes I don't. I can relate to her. A little too much, maybe, sometimes. I think that's part of why I don't like her sometimes.

I like and hate this book. It left me with all kinds of complicated feelings and with a hangover that I am still dealing with. ( )
