How to entertain, according to how the author thinks it should be done. Definitely not a book to be used by most home cooks, rather this is for those who love to entertain and want so tips on how to easily prepare food for the occasion.

Besides seeming lackadaisical, most of the meals were just not appealing to me personally. I felt as if the hostess prepared the food as an afterthought, and the most important part of entertaining was having people come to listen to her. The overall feel of the book did not sit well with me. I felt it lacked substance, and was a vanity project. The layout and photographs were much more arresting, and appeared to have much more thought put into them, than the recipes.

I would not recommend this book. 2 stars for the beautiful layout. Nice to look at, but not useful.
