The story of their father's murder is revealed, and how they are coping, add even more mystique to the already strange and mysterious house. In this house are magical keys that open doors that transform all who walk through them. The youngest child, Bode, is the only one who has found out this secret. He finds behind some doors are hate-filled creatures who want to open the most terrifying door of all. But nobody believes him.......

Joe Hill is a master storyteller, the graphics are bold and emotive. One of the most well done graphic novels I have read. ( )

A seriously scary novel about murder and revenge. Lovecraft is a mysterious mansion with many locked doors. Find the right key, and you can unlock the doors and enter into different realms -- spiritual and multidimensional. The book opens with a grisly murder (this is a graphic novel, after all). The murderer is imprisoned but plots his escape and ultimate revenge: getting the keys. A woman and her three children stand in the way of the magic keys, including a small boy named BoDe who becomes the vehicle for some spooky stuff. Not always logcial to this reader, it is still a scary good ride. Caveat: gruesome violence. ( )
