I'm really warming up to the Vanguard series. Summon the Thunder resolves little that was left hanging from Harbinger, but it does go a good way toward advancing the story that is the mystery of the Taurus Reach as well as further developing the characters. I found that I really started warming up to each of the characters much more than I did in Harbinger. Summon the Thunder shows us more about the Starfleet Corps of Engineers and introduces the Romulans as a much larger player in the story - I enjoyed both of these things. ( )
