Tietoja minusta I write. I'm getting my Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. I love music, play the piano, and can identify several composers by ear. Reading, hiking, and (no surprise here) star gazing are my activities of choice.

Tietoja kirjastostani Mostly fantasy fiction, poetry, and mythology, followed by Medieval Lit and books I've gathered over the years, studying Writing and English in college.

Thanks for the site recommendation! I think I've seen it before and I've been amused, although I am definitely not studying literature ever again after this year, I like history better, but that's only a recent discovery. =)

I love the T-shirts especially, I might actually get one ...
I think it is amazing that you are earning your MFA! Woohoo!

And thank you very much for joining the 20-Something LibraryThingers group!
I read your comment about The Giver. I love that you said you have a very persistant innocence. I'm going to have to use that as it describes me pretty well. Good luck on your MFA!
Soooo been there, use it for procrastination, and even met Jorge Cham himself the other week (when he visited my university). I'm especially enjoying the new humanities character. It's all too identifiable.
Having "Poetic" and "License" as tattoos is definitely cool :); but I bet your friend doesn't constantly get asked 'So what test were you cheating on?' whenever someone sees their tattoos :P.
Ha, done and done.
I had never heard that quote from Terry Brooks ("Writers are not all here because part of them is always over there" ) until you put it up in the "Writers Write, Right?" thread. Thank you for that, StarGazer; it now has a place in my permanent quote file!

That hurts so much. I know I'm going to have to spend so much for my theory class. I'm scared.
Heh, so I'm slowly getting used to this site. I mean, there's so much I have to add!
Unfortunately for my reading list, getting me hooked on something is incredibly easy. Unless I don't like something, but that goes without saying. Most of my reading is currently online, though. Have to say my favourite writers are my friends and I sincerely hope they'll get published some time. If only for the selfish reason that I want their stories in a proper book format. ^-~ (Sorry, I burble. I should have warned you initially.)

I'm studying in Leiden, but I'm definitely looking at the possibility of going abroad for an MA. We'll see. It's still a little while away. How about you?
My basic reasons for reading revolve around comments like that. (The basic reason I started to read The Katurran Odyssee was 'lemurs'.) But That Way Lies Camelot was wonderfully shiny. I loved it. Definitely gotten me hunting around for more of her books, and given me hope that I may yet like scifi stories.

And eeee! You write too! *smiles* Once I finish up my BA, I want to take an MA in Creative Writing as well. We could well be kindred spirits indeed! Also, a belated nice to meet you! ^-^
