Each year, that she could remember, Carly had only one request at birthday time. She loved receiving cards and having birthday parties, but all she ever really wanted was a puppy. A puppy of her very own.

Sally McIlwain is an elementary school teacher’s assistant and piano instructor. Carly’s 10! is her first work of children’s literature.
