About Me
Children's Literature was my favorite course at FSU when I was getting my BA in Early Childhood Education (around 1997.) Dr. Lynch-Brown was my professor - the author of our textbook. My husband & I were newlyweds when I first started teaching. I had a monthly "Scholastic allowance" that kept me from ordering too many books (no such thing!!)from the student book clubs. I still love children's books, whether reading them nightly to my daughters (ages 2 and 4) or to introduce/supplement lessons in my kindergarten classroom.

My expertise is limited to children's literature for early childhood age students. The area between picture books and adult novels is pretty much unchartered territory for me. I have not read many YA books since my young adult years and of those I don't recall many specific titles or authors. The literature taught in my middle and high school courses were predominately classics and "adult" books. Young adult literature was not as prevalent during my youth and certainly were not chosen as assigned readings. I look forward to learning more about this age group and the new literature written for them.
