This book will immediately attract any book lover or just anyone with an artistic love in general. Through the story of Marc Brown, a best known author and illustrator, his love and passion for books is easily seen. Although I am not very interested in books and illustration, I still enjoyed this book. I think a little more detail could have been used or more past history as well. Overall, this was a book I would recommend to aspiring authors and illustrators.

Marc Brown is a beloved author and illustrator best known for his series "Arthur". He began doing art a young age and with the encouragement of his grandparents, he was able to turn his passion into a career. This book is simple and to the point. I'm not sure if it would be interesting to read just for fun, but it could be beneficial if a child was doing research on an author and chose Marc Brown. The information is concise and gives a good overview of his life and career, however it doesn't really pull you in and reads like a children's version of a Wikipedia article.

This book is about the life of the creator of "Arthur", Marc Brown. As a child, he loved drawing and writing down creative ideas. He knew that he wanted to grow up to be an artist. When he was in college, he went to an art school to pursue this career. After graduating from school, he looked for many jobs in the art field. This led him to Houghton Mifflin and from there he published his first book, "What Makes the Sun Shine." After writing this book, he created the character of Arthur and it was a big success. In addition to the character being featured in books, he is also featured in the show Arthur. This book is perfect for children in grades kindergarten to 3rd.

The man behind the aardvark. Marc was always creative when it came to story telling, as well as possessed the gift of illustration. His family always encouraged his to pursue his passion for painting, where later ended him up in Cleveland institute of art, where he worked hard to receive scholarship to help pay for tuition. Marc worked hard in college taking many jobs, from truck driving to working as a short cook. Once his divorce with his first wife he found no books to help his children cope and understand with his situation of divorcing his wife. With his second wife they wrote and illustrated many books to help parents be able to explain serious situations in their lives. He wrote a series of Dinosaurs book, like Dinosaurs divorce and when Dinosaurs die. He has made an impact with Arthur and his series continues to be a favorite among young children.

Marc Brown always knew he wanted to be an artist from a young age. He went to art school at the Cleveland institute and majored in painting. After a while he got tired of his work and decided he wanted to illustrate children's books. Then after reading a bedtime story to his son, Arthur was born. He created the famous Arthur series. He has won many awards for his children's books and it even become a television series. Marc Brown is very inspiring. He has helped children and even adults go through struggles because his books talk about every day hurdles we have to overcome. I really enjoyed learning how Marc Brown sort of made a career change later on in life and it ended up being the best decision he ever made.

Marc Brown is best known for creating the Arthur the Aardvark book series, which became a television series in 1996. Brown attended Cleveland Institute of Art where he studied painting. After he graduated, Brown illustrated textbooks. His first book, Arthur's Nose, was published in 1976 and since then he has written and illustrated many more of Arthur's adventures. His books have helped children to deal with problems including divorce and death. His books have won many awards. The Arthur television series won Emmy Awards in 1997 and 1998. This is a good book because it presents information about a well-known children's author in a way that is simple enough that most children can understand. Throughout the book, certain words are written in bold and at the end of the book these words are defined so that anyone reading the book will know what these words mean.
