Get Lost Becka! is a Level 1 ‘School Zone Start to Read!’ story. The vocabulary is limited and many words are basic sight words. Readers use the contextual clues from the illustrations to figure out a difficult word. The layout is one sentence and one illustration. The left page is a white blank page with one bolded sentence and the right page is a colorful illustration paralleling the sentence. The narrator tells readers about her bossy older sister, Jenny. Readers can easily relate to the narrator’s feelings of being left out.
