This book catalogs Soviet-Egyptian ties from the 1967 June War (now mostly called the "Six Days War") to publishing in 1977. While with a strong narrative and good writing, it could have provided more insight to events prior to 1967, which greatly influenced how the U.S.S.R. and Egypt fostered a relationship (Czech Arms Deal & Suez Canal Crisis). That said, the book does a good job given its scope, yet relies on outside information (earlier history) to really remain part of a cohesive historical narrative.

A book about "the future of Soviet-American relations and the conduct of the Cold War into the twenty-first century" sort of says it all.
