Freiin Marie von Redwitz (1856–1933)

Baroness Marie von Redwitz was born in Schmölz, Bavaria, to an aristocratic German family. Her father Oskar von Redwitz was a poet. She became a maid-of-honor to Duchess Amalie Maria in Bavaria. Later in life, she published a memoir, Hofchronik 1888-1921 (1924), which is among the most reliable historical sources about this court. She also wrote short stories and novels, including Der Liebe Dornenpfad (The Thorny Road of Love).
