Sarah Mayberry is an Australian romance author. She grew up in Melbourne, Australia where she discovered romance novels through her grandmothers. After high school she earned a Bachellor of Arts degree in Professional Writing. Her first job was in journalism writing about hardware. From journalism näytä lisää she moved into corporate communications for a major retailer. launching a new consumer magazine for them. She finally ended up working in television on Australia's seriel drama Neighbours. This job taught her about character, story, structure and story telling. She went back to writing and became successful within a year and a half. Sarah also co-created a teen-drama series called Karoke high. She was nominated for a 2015 RITA Award in the category of Contempory Romance Mid-Length for her title Her Kind of Trouble. Sweet and touching. I liked that the hurdles were real, and I liked the treatment of what happens to a loving family when one member has mental illness. (I initially identified this as probably borderline, but possibly many other disorders, and then the same is said about 3/4 into the book.) A real pleasure.
Her Best Worst Mistake

Violet Sutcliffe and Martin St. Clair only tolerate each other's company for the sake of her best friend and his fiancée, Elizabeth. But when Elizabeth calls off the wedding and sets off for Australia to find herself, Violet and Martin are left behind to pick up the pieces. Soon, it is revealed that beneath the animosity and contempt lies an intense passion and desire that neither Violet nor Martin can or want to control.
Series note: This is the follow-up book to Elizabeth's story, but can definitely be read as a standalone.
Violet and Martin's incredibly sexy and steamy enemies to lovers romance is absolutely delightful. Violet has worked hard over the years to overcome the neglect and rejection of her childhood, and her self-confident party-girl personality masks a deep-seated desire to be loved for who she really is. Likewise, beneath Martin's stuffy persona and conservative three-piece suits lies the heart and soul of a truly good and honorable man with a tremendous capacity for love with the right woman. Thanks to Elizabeth's desertion, this seemingly mismatched pair are finally able to see the attraction that has been there all along.
The only problem with this book its that it comes to an end. Highly recommended for fans of the love-hate relationship trope.

I quite liked this book and its companion novel [b:Hot Island Nights|8177542|Hot Island Nights (Harlequin Blaze, #566)|Sarah Mayberry|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1348388066s/8177542.jpg|13024069]; both had likable characters and sexy naked times but both ended kind of on the weak side. The tension in the stories was resolved a little too neatly. This is partly a problem of length, since the books were on the short side and I think they could have each used another couple of chapters. Still, I'll be glomming Mayberry's other titles.… (lisätietoja)
