Very interesting book. Laurent writes an "immediate history" of the 2007-2009 financial crisis, with a focus on the imbrication of the financial and political fields in the United States. Not much difference between the Bush jr. II and Obama administrations, or even between the former and Bill Clinton's: big American banks are in power, not politicians. A worrying story of unlitimed rapacity and total lack of self-restraint.
