One problem was that the main character, Jake Walker was a complete asshole. He viewed himself as an alpha male, and all of his problems, like his spouse's leaving him, were totally her fault because she was just a whoring bitch. Obviously, in his mind, it had nothing to do with the fact that he was a volatile, neglectful asshole.
He murders someone near the end and spends endless time justifying it, when he could have easily, had he been half as competent with a gun as he pretended, shot the person in the leg, and thereby disabled her. She was, after all, distracted by someone coming down the hall from the opposite direction from where Jake was standing.
Then too, things happened that couldn't possible happen in real life. This is one of the most poorly written books I've had the misfortune to open. Naturally, the book is full of grammatical errors. Clearly, the author's strengths in school didn't include English classes.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this dreck.… (lisätietoja)
