Romance author Lisa Jackson grew up in Oregon. She graduated from Oregon State University and started working in the banking/investment industry. In the early 1980s, she stopped working in order to become a stay-at-home mom and started writing romance novels at the suggestion of her sister and näytä lisää fellow romance author Nancy Bush. She published her first novel, A Twist of Fate, in 1983. Her books regularly appear on the New York Times, USA Today and Publisher's Weekly bestseller lists. In April 2011 Lisa Jackson's title Devious hit the Publisher's Weekly bestseller list and in Aug 2012 her title You Don't Want to Know made The New York Times Best Seller List. This is the 5th book in the Alvarez/Pescoli series. It's Christmas Eve (again) and Regan Pescoli has just arrived at the Sheriff's house to hand in her resignation when he is shot and his dog takes off. The Sheriff's department is immediately investigating who would want to shoot the sheriff and hoping he recovers from his wounds. Then, a local judge is killed and they are trying to determine if and how the events are connected.
This is book #6 in the Alvarez/Pescoli detective series. Again, it's wintertime in Montana and a serial killer is loose. This time, 2 women have been found dead, each with their ring fingers cut off and no wedding/engagement rings found. At the same time, Jessica arrives in Grizzly Falls desperate to speak to the sheriff because she thinks he can help her. She is running from her husband who tried to kill her but she got away and she thinks he's following her.
This continues the series about detectives Alvarez and Pescoli. In this book, its Christmas season again and another serial killer is on the loose. This time he is encasing his victims in ice and placing them in public places with a piece of jewelry that had been stolen from detective Alvarez's home.
What a great book. I won the entire series (8 books in all).
This first book tells the story of the Star-Crossed Killer, someone who targets women and causes them to get into a car accident. She is then "rescued" and cared for before being left to die somewhere.
Selena Alvarez and Regan Pescoli are the detectives who are investigating the killings. During the investigation, there is a random victim who is in a car accident and rescued and cared for but is not part of the killings. This is a parallel story to the killing story.
