Great compendium of Yogic Knowledge. This book really is a 'complete' guide to yoga. It is, of course, important to remember that yoga is not only posture, but breathing and meditation as well. The postures in this book are valuable in and of themselves and are organized and presented in a similar manner to Iyengar's "Light on Yoga." Well described and very comprehensive list of Asana. The Yoga of Breathing is also well described and the various yogic breathing exercises are explained as is the theory of Pranayama. The Yoga of meditation section of the book is particularly valuable and explains in basic beginning terms the general ideas of various types of yoga, eastern philosophy, and the eight limbs of yoga.
