Stormy  Daniels

A breezily quick read (and my 69th for my 2018 goodreads challenge, heyooooo), I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Ms. Daniels is funny, and I liked her voice more than Andi Dorfman's autobiography. Chatty like a good gal pal, but sensible about context, Stormy herself is pretty remarkable as a successful writer and director of adult films, and the parts about 45 (the reason why any of us are reading this, if we're honest) are pretty brief. He (or rather his legal team) comes back like a bad penny later, but by and large this is Stormy's life story and she'd rather he not be in it.

I've only read other tell-all this year out of the many that came out, but this definitely was more entertaining than [b: Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House|36595101|Fire and Fury Inside the Trump White House|Michael Wolff|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1514994130s/36595101.jpg|58345679], which felt rushed.

As always, thanks to my local library for books I'm interested in but don't necessarily wanna commit the shelf space to. I do hope Stormy makes enough from book sales to pay those attorney fees...… (lisätietoja)

I enjoy reading memoirs of people who live lives that are totally alien to me, and Stormy Daniels’ certainly qualifies. Of course, the book’s notoriety is largely down to her relationship with one Donald J Trump, but there is a lot that’s interesting here besides that.
The first third or so details her childhood (by turns abusive and neglectful) and rapid rise to success in the adult entertainment industry. It’s a fascinating account, without ever being prurient.
Of course it’s when she meets Trump that things get really interesting. Her description of their tryst and the threats that came after it is credible and even moving at times.
Aside from the juicy gossip element, what makes the book so entertaining is Daniels herself. She’s honest, funny, determined and principled, a very engaging protagonist who I found myself rooting for.
I recently read another “alien” memoir, ‘Lady in Waiting’ by Anne Glenconner (British aristocrat and frond of Princess Margaret) whose contents were just as shocking as ‘Full Disclosure’s. The main difference between the two books is that I came away liking Stormy Daniels.… (lisätietoja)

I really had no idea what to expect when I started this book, i just knew I had to read it. Stormy is not at all like she has been portrayed by some in the press, and she is nothing you would expect. Stormy seems very upfront, straightforward and has an overall positive vibe that is addicting. She has a great sense of humor, as well.
Stormy loves her hometown, Baton Rouge, loves her gay dads and found a way to live through the alcoholism and neglect living with her mother. She shares her relationships with rockers Vinnie and Rex from Pantera, Kerry King from Slayer and Glen from Hollywood Undead.
Chapter 3 shares the infamous Trump Sex story....details of how they met, what happened between them, how she found herself in a harrowing and assuming position with a man who will force himself and bully to get his way. She details his amusing private parts, and what distinguishes it from others. Her insights gathered from time with him, his real relationship with Russia is terrifying. His attempt to force Stormy on the Aporentice, his giving her tickets to the 2007 Miss America Pageant, her time watching Shark Week were highlights and show the true character of a man with no standards.
This was a quick and fun read. I think Stormy is likeable and personable. It's hard not to like someone who names her breasts Thunder & Lightening!.
