This should not be disturbing, as it allows us to learn a lot about this specific culture and realize that, despite different languages, there is something common among the people of the earth: we are exploited by the same methods. Toute la question est de savoir ce que nous allons faire de cette précieuse ressource, le temps de cerveau disponible ? Allons-nous la consacrer à traiter collectivement les défis du moment, à base d’inventions scientifiques et technologiques, de partage des connaissances, de délibération démocratique et de régulation internationale ? Ou allons-nous la laisser se faire capturer par le marché dérégulé de l’information qui, à rebours de l’idéal d’émancipation des fondateurs de l’Internet, donne libre cours à nos penchants et favorise les biais cognitifs et le temps court ? À suivre Bronner, la balance penche du mauvais côté. Dieses Buch (Untertitel: Wie man Gerüchten nicht auf den Leim geht) ist in der Comic-Bibliothek des Wissens erschienen.

Mehr oder weniger durchgehend im Dialog zwischen zwei Schülern - einem, der Fake News schlecht von Fakten unterscheiden kann, und einem, der den aufgeklärten Internet-Nutzer darstellt, wird Schritt für Schritt deutlich gemacht, was hinter Fake News steht, warum man irgendwann in seiner Filterblase gefangen ist und welche bequemen Denkmuster man ablegen muss, um Fake News besser zu erkennen. Dabei helfen einfache Fragen wie "Wem nützt es?" oder aber dem Fehlen von Informationen oder falschen Schlussfolgerungen auf die Spur zu kommen.

Inhaltlich hat mir das Buch gut gefallen, auch die Umsetzung als Comic ist gelungen. Für meinen Geschmack bin ich aber zu häufig über Satzfehler in den Sprechblasen gestolpert, was vermutlich der Übersetzung geschuldet ist.… (lisätietoja)
