Well-written, with a nice complement of action, good plot, characterization and humor, this is the story of a small band of people being forced to leave their home planet by the Federation so that the rest of the galaxy can share their acquired immortality, until Picard intervenes. A good story and a fine morality play, in the best Star Trek tradition.
