Meets a real need. ( ) So often we say we believe in Christ without believing that he can save me. Robinson points out the inconsistency, and says that if we really believe in him, we will also believe that he can save me also. One of the minor points of this book is that it explains that there is a false dichotomy between faith and works. They are both necessary. Likewise, Grace is a gift freely given without any requirements, otherwise it would be justice. However, is is possible to refuse grace, and it is important to show our desire to receive grace. Analogies through the book illustrate the principles that are explained. When writing about a book, I often quote favorite or meaningful parts of the book. I resisted doing that with this book. First, the premise of the book is quite simple, but although it is a thin book, yet there is a lot more to it. It's a thin book - No review could do it justice. Just read it yourself. Read in 2005, and again in 2013. This book illustrates simply but insightfully the role of Jesus Christ in our lives, including the need for His grace and how that works. How to not just believe in Him, but to believe Him and exercise the faith necessary to make His atonement effective in our lives. We need this reminder. It has been a very helpful book to several people I know who have read it. Well worth reading! Ryan ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

HTML: Author Stephen Robinson illustrates the power of the Savior as he uses analogies and parables, such as his own bicycle story, and scriptures and personal experiences in this moving, best-selling book. "Mortals have finite liabilities," he explains, "and Jesus has unlimited assets." By merging the two, exaltation can come. As long as we progress in some degree, the Lord will be pleased and will bless us. We must not only believe in Christ but also believe himâ??believe that he has the power to exalt us, that he can do what he claims. People will better understand the doctrines of mercy, justification, and salvation by grace after reading this book. Kirjastojen kuvailuja ei löytynyt. |
