I Hate English! (A Blue Ribbon Book) (vuoden 1995 painos)

I liked this book a lot. Mei Mei didn't want to learn a new language at all she but she started to lean into when she realized how important it was to communicate with more people. Her teacher doesn't force her to speak English either she just takes her into town and let Mei Mei see how the language is a big part in everyday life.

The book shares the experience of a young Chinese girl and her experience in America. She attends school but does not want to speak English because she cant understand it. In the end the girl finally speaks English so she can share her experiences with her teacher. The book is appropriate to read to ELL students and all others to understand the importance of culture and languages. ( )

This is a perfect book to read for ELL students in your classroom. As an English Language Learner, I really love this book. I will use the book to help ELL students in my classroom who are afraid of learning English. ( )

This is a great book about an ELL who begins to open up to learning English. I think this would be an awesome book to have in your classroom collection for students who are learning English as a second language. ( )
