As always, this installment in the Stephanie Plum series kept me thoroughly entertained throughout and flipping pages at a fast rate. I love Evanovich's writing style. It's quick and witty, and surprisingly funny. I rarely laugh out loud when reading, but every Stephanie Plum book has had me in stitches. I also enjoyed Stephanie's growing sexual tension with Ranger, as well as her ongoing "relationship" with Morelli. And the ending! Wow. Talk about a cliffhanger! A fun, light, easy read. Just what I needed while getting through a stressful time at work. (A) ( )

Typical for Stephanie... she gets into trouble. Way too much trouble. She keeps poking around and in the end the case gets solved, without her having to do too much. A bit deus ex machina like. ( )

E' un brutto periodo per la nostra Stephanie: Vinnie, suo cugino e datore di lavoro, non ha recuperi da affidarle e siccome affitto e bollette non si pagano da sole, la nostra antieroina deve ancora una volta cercare un modo per far quadrare i conti.

Pensate forse che opti per fare la commessa? Nossignori! Stephanie va da Ranger, misterioso ed equivoco collega che l'ha – per così dire – iniziata alla professione di agente di recupero e gli chiede di trovarle qualcosa da fare. Non ci sarebbe niente di particolarmente strano se Ranger non operasse nella zona d'ombra tra la legalità e l'illegalità.

Così inizia la sua carriera parallela e devo dire che non va molto diversamente da quella ufficiale – e come dubitarne? Innanzi tutto, Ranger le si presenta con un'auto aziendale. Una Porche. Mmh... devo davvero specificare che salterà in aria e verrà schiacciata da un camion della nettezza urbana? Per fortuna Ranger non se la prende (probabilmente la conosce abbastanza da essere rassegnato!).

Già, già, Ranger... pare proprio che ci sarà del tenero tra lui e la nostra Stephanie. Devo dire che mi dispiace molto per Morelli. La coppia Ranger-Stephanie non fa ridere quanto la coppia Morelli-Stephanie... quindi, rimango una fan sfegata di Morelli, anche se devo ammettere che Ranger è muy caliente (e che in condizioni normali la mia scelta ricadrebbe su di lui... ma in Stephanie Plum non c'è niente di anche solo lontanamente normale!).

La parte del giallo a questo giro non l'ho capita tanto. Fino a un certo punto ho seguito la raccolta degli indizi, poi mi sono persa nel momento in cui Stephanie mette insieme i pezzi. Le cose sono due. O Stephanie sta diventando davvero brava nel suo mestiere, o ero troppo impegnata a ridere per seguire le sue indagini. Propenderei per la seconda ipotesi.

E adesso devo andare assolutissimamente a leggere il sesto!!! Questo finale mi ha lasciata con l'ansia di sapere chi c'è dietro quella porta!!! ( )

Stephanie Plum, la cazarrecompensas más enrollada de Trenton, Nueva Jersey, investiga la misteriosa desaparición de su tío Fred. La única pista que halla en su escritorio son unas macabras fotografías en las que se distinguen los trozos de un cuerpo descuartizado en el interior de unas bolsas de basura. Por otro lado, la policía encuentra los cadáveres de dos empleados de una empresa de recogida de basuras.

The usual ragtag bunch are all there to help.
Finding Fred becomes a bit more complicated and dangerous than first expected. And the heat between Joe Morelli and Stephanie become more intense. So does the attraction to Ranger. Stephanie knows he's not a stable person to be in a relationship with, but her body continues to crave him.

See if Stehanie and the gang can find Uncle Fred and solve the case of his disappearance. And see if Stephanie gets her man,or even figure out which one she really wants.

I said it before I love this series. It is hilarious. The characters are all wonderfully created and well developed. The story and plot are executed perfectly. ( )
