I would use this book in any science class. This book is full of great visual representations. Some of the material is complex. Students need to have knowledge of the phases of matter and molecules. The text is easy to read and the concepts are clearly presented. Aesthetically, the text is packed. The main ideas are highlighted in a number of ways. Sentences are enlarged and in bright colored font. Sentences in the text are circled. lines are drawn on the page to connect ideas and visuals. This may work to engage very young readers, because it is much more visually appealing than a traditional textbook. However, I found it difficult to read steadily, because the format of the type kept my eyes and my focus dashing from one place to the next. ( )
