Ladataan... Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us (2009)– tekijä: Daniel H. Pink
![]() Ei tämänhetkisiä Keskustelu-viestiketjuja tästä kirjasta. Standard business book in the worst way. One decent idea (learning and internal motivation beats cash and external motivation), bulked out into inanity with filler. ( ![]() Drive was a great book for anyone who needs to motivate and encourage knowledge workers to perform. And if they are not performing, it will offer excellent insight as to why. If you haven't seen Pinks 10 minute video that summarizes the book, I highly encourage you look it up on youtube. I enjoyed the book through and through, and expect I will reference and discuss his ideas on autonomy, mastery and purpose for some time to come. My only (small) criticism is that Pink uses his own jargon repeatedly through the book-- "Motivation 1.0 Operating System", "Type I behavior", etc. This obscured his message somewhat. I listened to this on audio. It was a worthwhile read, but presented few (if any) new ideas to me, someone well-versed in the motivation literature. That being said, I'd recommend it to anyone interested in motivation or who finds themselves "lost". maybe because before writing books like this he was a speech writer. An easy read that made me more aware of how my actions and words can demotivate others when I intend them to motivate, and understanding how I react to being told what to do. ( ) To be honest, I found some of the first half of the book quite boring. Some of his "big ideas" aren't original. But, after getting through that, I found the practical part of this book quite fascinating. I did like how he restated some of his big points multiple parts throughout the book. Did a good job of helping me remember the important parts without having to go back and refresh my memory. ( ) Daniel Pink's writing is incredibly fluid, maybe because before writing books like this he was a speech writer. An easy read that made me more aware of how my actions and words can demotivate others when I intend them to motivate, and understanding how I react to being told what to do. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
Pink argues that the secret to high performance and satisfaction in today's world is the deeply human need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new things, and to do better by ourselves and our world. No library descriptions found. |
