A nice little story about a young middle schooler who realizes the harm her bullying has done to others. ( ) Imagine moving to a new school in the middle of the year. Pretty hard, huh? Just when you've ajusted to your new surroundings you get shoved to some other place. If this were elementary school, it wouldn't be as hard for Robin Miller; but unfortunately, it's middle school. Sets of eyes burn holes into the your back, and you hear gossip about you everywhere you go. And so, the adventure of Robin Miller's "new life" begins. Robin hated her mom for making her move, she always hated her mom's job, and she hates moving all the time. This is just another one of those times.. Or so it seems to be. Being part of the popular "A Crew" at her old school, she didn't want to leave, ever. It took Robin a lot of hard work to get in to the group, and now she has to leave. She felt so powerful, above the rest, and confident. She wouldn't trade that in for anything in the world. But when ends meet, she is forced to move to a new school. On her first day, while walking to the office to sign in, a lady invites her into her new office. She didn't know about that part, but she went with the flow. Turns out the woman thought she was the substitute principal for the next three weeks! Being the bad, rebellious, failing student that she is, she bends all the rules of the school. Will the school find out she's not the real substitute principal? After the incident with Marcy, Bird's mom decides they need a new start and whisks her off to small-town Oklahoma, far away from her queen bee friends who call themselves The Six-Pack. When Bird enters her new middle school and is mistaken for the new interim principal, she decides to have fun with it while she can. Along the way she learns a thing or two about bullying. The title is enough to sell this book to middle schoolers and the humor will win them over. I found the writing to be somewhat uneven and the plot calls for major suspension of disbelief, but if you can get past that, there's a story with a lot of heart. I'd recommend it to fans of Freaky Friday or Mean Girls. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
