"Orange You Glad It's Halloween, Amber Brown?" tells the story of Amber on a Halloween day. Her parents are arguing and this causes her to feel sad and distracted most of the day. She is worried that her parent's arguing is a sign that they might get divorced. When she arrives home her parents have made up and her world seems wonderful again. This book demonstrates how a child might lack concentration at school, and not have the joy in activities that they normally would if there is conflict at home. This book also demonstrates that just because a child's parents argue does not mean they will divorce. I did not give this book 5 stars because it could have shown more diversity in the pictures of the students. ( ) Amber just wanted to have a Happy Halloween with her friend Justin. She was afraid that her parents were going to ruin it because of their arguments. They bought pumpkins to school that are dressed like their favorite book characters. Her and Justin both went to class and had fun with their classmates for Halloween. I understand how Amber feels about Halloween, it has always been one of my most favorite holidays and who wants that ruined. I loved dressing up every year. My favorite part about Halloween was walking around the neighborhood with my friends and getting good candy. This book about Amber Brown’s Halloween. Her parents are fighting and she is worried this may ruin her Halloween. She goes to school and has a good day with her friends then she returns home. There she hands out candy and her father apologizes to her mother. She is so happy and ready to go trick-or-treating. This was a good story that I think students would be able to relate to. I would like to have this book in a future classroom. Amber Brown is ready for Halloween even though her parents are arguing. Her and her best friend Justin were having a pumpkin party at school, but she is just ready to get home so she can get in her costume. She is worried that she won't be able to get trick-or-treating with her parents fighting though. In the end her parents make up and they all go trick-or-treating, with Amber Brown in her best costume ever. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
