It's sort of sing-songy, in a way that doesn't suit the story or the characters. ( ) I liked this book much better than St. Nacho's. Don't get me wrong, I liked that book as well but I had a hard time getting into that book because of the style of writing. Perhaps I am just used to it now so it doesn't bother me as much but I was really happy to see Cooper and Shawn again and I was thrilled to see Jordan come to town ready to find himself and make his life what he deserved. Ken was a great character--not strong enough until he realized that there was someone out there who needed him to be strong enough. I really enjoyed this book. I really, really hate first person. But, this series helps me forget about it. After the first book, I did not care for Jordan. Although to be fair, he was taking the right healthy steps as we left him. While I applauded how well he moved on, he did not seem to struggle with any of his addictions in book two. I found it hard to believe how stable he was, based on how broken he was at the end of the first book. Don't get me wrong, I understand why the author did not focus on his problems and rather on Ken's. It was a lovely story about second chances. This is a sequel to St Nachos. I liked it, I liked the growth of Jordan, who had a breakdown at the end of the first book. Here we see him building himself up again. Of course it all happens very fast, he's in town for a minute and in love a week later with lifelong committment only a month away... but given that you buy into that world, then what happens between the sad foolish youth who killed a child, and the poor boy who was crippled in a car accident is beautiful to see unfold. I'm also interested when the Dom is younger, showing that dom and sub are mind spaces, not age spaces. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

He's past the worst part of his life but knows it will haunt him forever. So Jordan plans a life of quiet service. One thing he knows for sure: finding love is entirely too much to ask. On the first day of his new job, Jordan meets Ken Ashton. Ken has every reason to hate Jordan for his past: Ken's baseball career was shattered in a drunk-driving accident. But for some reason he can't explain, Ken needs Jordan's touch and finds healing within Jordan's warmth and strength. Without entirely understanding it, Ken and Jordan develop a powerful emotional and erotic connection, but Ken must help Jordan find the faith to trust it.
